Black Bean Hummus

Rustic stone bowl of black bean hummus garnished with black beans, sliced bell peppers, fresh basil, and olive oil—an inviting vegan dip ideal for sandwiches, crackers, or vegetable platters.

A bold, creamy dip for peaceful snacking and sandwich layering

This Black Bean Hummus is a quick, flavorful twist on the classic chickpea version. With black beans, lime, tahini, and smoked paprika, it’s creamy, tangy, and just a little smoky, perfect for dipping, spreading, or savoring by the spoonful. According to the Harvard Nutrition Source, black beans are an excellent source of plant-based protein, fiber, and folate that support digestive and heart health.

I often enjoy it as a side dish straight from the bowl, but it’s also lovely as a sandwich spread or paired with crisp vegetables and this Garlic Herb Almond Crackers recipe. It comes together in minutes using a food processor and is naturally vegan and gluten-free.

Tip: This hummus doesn’t keep well for more than a few days, so I recommend making just one batch at a time and enjoying it fresh.
